Any way to turn down GFX settings even more?

Does anybody know if you can turn down quality even more than the menu permits via editing the .xml? Sadly I don't know what the commands inside do.

I wouldn't mind if my RES asteroids look like floating crap, I just want RES without unplayable judder, I'm a bounty hunter *cries*

I think the judder problem with RES come from the hact that scurity forces continuesly spawn and then create judder despite any graphic settings you change.... Security forces ships should have a max spawn rate and be system security dependent, seems a bug to me right now. Perhaps with 1.3 update
