Anybody interested in friendly On-Foot PvP ?

Quick question @Ryox , if none of my gear is engineered (beyond as purchased), will I be able to meaningfully compete with players who have all G5 or will it just be me exploding like a sausage every minute or so? I suspect the latter, but have no frame of reference/experience to answer my own question with some authority.

Heh.

I have a G3 Artemis with extra melee damage and extra damage protection (got it from a shop - not mad enough to engineer that stuff.)
Artemis + extra melee damage, wow, you gonna look like in Kill Bill or Matrix 😂

I cannot legally recommend this in PvP but personally I like the idea of being creative ;)
Honestly, I never tried anything else than the Dominator in PvP.
Most of CMDRs had Dominator, a little few Maverick and almost none Artemis.

Actually I just checked in-game and in the fandom, it seems to me that the specs of each suit are not complete. I heard some other attributes have variations (like the jetpack capacity) but I'm not sure.

I just did some tests in-game, I'm very disappointed, the movement speed is the same for the 3 suits 😒

So I would say Dominator have the clear advantage here because of better shield. But you probably already know that, hehe.

Edit : I would rather go "DMG resistance + Shield Regen"

I don't like the term "like a sausage". Technically you are "a CMDR who exploded and then became a sausage". ^^

Seriously speaking, yes, you can play with lower grade gears if you have teammates with you (which is the main purpose of this group).

The secret is team-work. You'll learn to stay near your squad and coordinate with them. That way you'll not become an easy target for the other side and you'll protect each others.

Where the grades make a difference is when you duel 1v1 with another CMDR. Usually you want to avoid that but it's very fun.

I highly recommend getting at least G3 pre-made gears from shops, preferably a Dominator suit. 'Modifications' themselves are probably less crucial.

And let's be sincere, most of serious PvP players bring G5. It gives you a big advantage.

I have, as purchased, G3 Dom, G2 Exec w/Stowed Reload, G3 L-6 w/Mag Size, some other G3 small weapon (P-6?) and no desire to grind for mats. I pick them up as I go. I don't yet have enough mats to apply any suit/weapon engineering.

G3 Dominator is a good start !

As for the weapons :

L-6 is one of the most popular in PvP.

Executioner can be good too (I have one) but it's the most difficult to use. It works surprisingly well for mass-killing NPCs (which is very important in CZ even in PvP). On the other hand it requires the highest skill level if you target other CMDRs (the bullet is sooo slow, it's almost impossible).

I'm not sure if "L-6 + Executioner" would be safe though. None of the two are good when it comes to defend yourself (another CMDR jumping on you with a shotgun).

I would rank those loadouts by order of popularity :

1) L-6 (rpg) + TK Aphelion (laser rifle) + P-15 (kinetic pistol)
2) L-6 (rpg) + Intimidator (plasma shotgun) + Tormentor (plasma pistol)
3) TK Aphelion (laser rifle) + AR-50 (kinetic rifle) + Tormentor (plasma pistol)
4) Executioner (plasma marksman) + Intimidator (plasma shotgun) + Tormentor (plasma pistol)

I think I should have better written the title of this thread as :

"Anybody interested in friendly On-Foot team PvP ?"

I'm worry it could be interpreted as 1v1 duels primarily, while it's the opposite we want to do.

Maybe I should ask a @moderator if it's possible to change it, I don't know how it works. 😣

Hi everyone ! Sorry, it's been a while since last time I updated this thread. But I finally got some news !

I decided to create a Discord server for our group : Elite On-Foot Combat Community

That way it will allow anybody from outside the forum to join and will also let us organize better (and even provide optional voice-chat if needed).
This Discord is open for everybody and doesn't require invitation or any sort of commitment.

Please, share it with anybody who could be interested, thanks in advance !

Let's see if we can gather a bunch of people over there and I'll organize something 🤠

o7 !
