Anybody visited this?

Totting around on a little exploration, and this...string of pearls-like thing...has been looming larger with every jump.

Anyone been out to it, or know what/where it is?

Try setting the Galaxy Map to Realistic and orienting along your current course. If it's a cluster of stars then you may be able to spot them and then scroll in closer to see what they are.

Reminds me of Close Encounters :)

But is it far out from occupied space? I thought I came across this once but I haven't been out beyond 5000 ly or so.

A quick google image search for "NGC 7822 Elite Dangerous" revels that: (a) This is most likely NGC 7822; (b) Several people have much closer, better images of it!

May consider heading there on my next exploration...

Blows my fricking mind that people have seen this landmark and we all just know it now. Elite is so bloody amazey-balls.

@Muss and Gublok: I'm in Elephant's trunk nebula. Just about to turn around and head for home...

Curiosity sated...THANKS GUYS!

Been there, done that, as previously stated it is NGC 7822, as you´re stated you are at Elephant´s trunk, you´re very close..

Another very nice region like 'NGC 7822' is near Thor's Eye (not too far from inhabited space towards Sag A*)

Can't remember the name, but I passed through it a few months back. It's Either - M67 sector or LKHA 115 - A Nebula spewing a stream of Blue Supergiants and Black holes.

Thargoid Mothership. You're screwed!

<<Evil Wicked Laughter>>™

Now how cool would it be to actually see a Thargoid/Alien fleet getting visibly closer like that in space... just think about it, you're out exploring and you see what look like distant stars but they're getting closer and closer until planet sized ships start zooming past you on their way towards human space.

I bet they´re out there... but we cannot see them.. see those innacesible sectors.. like Polaris..

You can hear it already... from human space point toward Regor (or the LMC and SMC) and just listen you'll get the chills sounds like a swarm of gigantic insects rushing toward you..... they're coming.

That would be beyond badass, actually. :D
