Anyone already tried bachelor groups of males?

Hey there,

in real life some zoos do male bachelor groups with elephants for example. I was thinking of doing the same. Has anyone tried it with elephants or other species yet in game, without turning fighting of in sandbox? Is it possible or will all fight regardless of females being around or not?

Yes, I did. But actually in franchise, not sandbox. For example with Zebras, African Buffalo, Thomson's Gazelles.... they wont fight if you have any females in the zoo, even if they are in a habitat next to them - they just cant be in the same habitat as the females, but thats obvious, of course☺
You just have to stick with the max Zoopedia allows for bachelor groups of each species, otherwise they will fight due to overcrowding. Both elephants allow bachelor groups up to five males👍
Oh and it is not possible for all animals, actually. For example polar bears and orangutans, for them the limit is just one, they wont tolerate other males at all.

So, yeah, bachelor groups are very possible in the game, as long as you stick to the numbers the Zoopedia tells you and its a species that can actually live in such groups to begin with:)

Yes tried to manage a breeding program with bachelor enclosure (african safari and lions) , it worked fine! Great way to avoid fights is to ship male babies to the bachelor before they mature. Works like a charm.
