I doubt it, if only because they only just been discovered.

That said, a five star system? pfft! that's peanuts, I recently visited a system that at least double that, if not more.

Head coreward...I've seen exploration vids with 15+ star systems in towards the core (a couple of big main stars with tons of ringed dwarves orbiting like a bunch of gas giants).

I'm not an astronomer so having read the article, a quick question.

When we find systems that have bodies in a perpendicular orbit, does that mean/suggest that it's a traveller that's become resident in the system?

If so, I'll have to pay more attention to them the next time I go out.

I believe this is about "core" stars in the system, not stars that are orbiting the core stars.

Most I've seen is 7, with the average about 3. Most I've seen in one system is probably around 15, with 3 core stars and the rest orbiting them.
