Anyone Else Experiencing This (GeForceNOW) Problem?

Over the last couple of weeks I have noticed that when just moving across a zoo, even an empty one, the screen would glitch for a split second and then return to normal. I thought this was weird but I kinda got used to it over time and just ignored it and kept playing. Now, just over the last few days, I have noticed that oftentimes when I place an item, whether it be a bench, lamppost, decoration, info board, etc. it pauses as the FPS drops from about 80-90 to about 1 or 2 for a quick second. This makes placing scenery pretty tedious now, if it wasn’t already lol.

Please tell me others have experienced this problem?! I’m thinking it has something to do with GeForceNOW. I’ve used the service for I think almost a year now and haven’t had many problems with it, except for an occasional unexpected crash. I don’t really think it’s my internet because I have an Ethernet cable connected and that’s all good and when I test the network within the GeForceNOW settings, it says I’m all good, often exceeding the requirements for a smooth gameplay.

If it isn’t a GeForceNOW problem, then it’s a Planet Zoo problem, because this doesn’t happen with other games or regular functions on my PC. I’m also thinking the whole VSync and HDR stuff has something to do with it. I have no idea what these mean and what they do if they’re turned on/off, so if anyone could just tell me that, it’d be great.

Sidenote: This did start happening around the time of Update 1.8 and the Europe Pack, but I can’t remember if it started directly after that. I just thought of this as I’m writing this thread.

Anyway, I hope at least one other person can relate in some way or another and any help would be greatly appreciated!

This isn't a new problem, nor do I believe it to be a GeForceNow problem. Even YouTubers with fairly robust rigs who have no need of GeForceNow have experienced this issue. Usually it's caused by high piece count / high usage of objects with the climbable tag causing the game to constantly calculate climbable area / [insert really any of the current reasons for planet zoo to lag]. The game also has a tendency to soft-lock while autosaving, especially in bigger zoos, which it does every 10-15 minutes. This may potentially be a factor in the problem you're experiencing.

Hmmm... really interesting because yesterday I didn't really experience the problem. I recently built a Koala habitat which is a traversable area nightmare, they get stuck, go in boxes, etc. I've actually noticed that when I'm building near that habitat, the problem occurs. For example, my Dingo habitat which is right next to it I was having problems but in my little food area down the path, I wasn't. Interesting, makes sense.

When I was playing today, I took my Koalas out of their exhibit to the trade center temporarily. Then, it was much better, not fixed but definitely manageable. So if anyone is experiencing this problem, if you're gonna be building around an animal that has a climbing traversable area, especially a complex one, try putting all the animals in that exhibit into the trade center, then move them back when you're done.
