Anyone else feel sick with DK2

I envy all of you so much... I would have already ordered a DK2 if they were shipping to my country. Going to try ordering it via my relatives in Sweden...

Fair enough but motion reported in the ears and not the eyes is also interpreted as poisoning. So I wouldn't call that completely different.

Actually both are listed on wikpedia as different forms of motion sickness. I'll retract that. It's quite a general term though. I guess my point should be better stated that it is not the same as car sickness (which is what I believe most people think it is when they say motion sickness).

It is very similar to simulation sickness.

So; sorry about that :)

I tried the rift at Lave Con and I loved it but there is no way I could fly one for any amount of time :( I will just feel too ill. A very real shame.

Even the first few days playing elite on normal screens I was feeling travel sick all the time and playing induced headaches. After a while though this stopped and playing was fine.

Last weekend I got an x52 and even just changing joysticks is making me travel sick again. I sometimes think my eyeballs are being pulled out of my head. This is starting to ease off now as I am getting used to the new controls.

I put this down to bad eyes, I have astigmatism.

I am struggling with whether to buy or not at the moment. They are saying any orders placed now will ship from Sept.. I had reservations on how to use a keyboard at the same time, but could probably do without text messaging anyway as I can't touch type. My remaining reservation is how easy it will be to set it up to work as I believe there is some technical fiddling to do.
I have a i5 CPU with gtx770 2Gb gpu, 8 Gb ram, would that be sufficient?

Its not a solution for chatting but I use software called VoiceAttack that allows you to speak commands. Works amazingly with the Oculus Rift. I can deploy landing gear and do any other keyboard action via my own chosen voice commands.

In conjunction with VoiceAttack I use a Hortas X Joystick.
