Anyone else noticed these new little things?

It looks more like a mine elevator basket to me.

(Deep) Cave gameplay confirmed?

I mean... it would work if the cave would be generated like a concourse, meaning you have to take an elevator to get to it and either fade to black or have the elevator loading mechanic... no?

Things like this could be used to make players happy to see new things instead of the things that ARE NOT getting fixed.
Example:
Some cool looking object never seen before that is actually a pretty cool find, BTW, but most likely took Devs 10x the effort to model, color, and place effects for it than fixing a lighting problem for one weapon on one vehicle that has been broke for almost 3 months... Go Figure!
It could also be a Dev Managers way of saying fix it or you'll end up there...LOL

Personally, I would MUCH rather see them fix EXISTING problems and bugs before "amazing" us with new stuff. Since the "upgrade" to the new failed Odessey...I mean Horizons, Mining (core) has been a real pain and the graphics look like wire frame jobs from a 101 level class! Also, as far as I am concerned, we all should get the ENTIRE Odessey package if we have to put up with the degrading of Horizons and all the new bugs.

They are the cargo cages used for Protect missions. The missions themselves are great fun, all shooty stuff, of course, which may be completed as a solo player, but are much less frantic with a team mate or three.
Oh, didn't know there were new missions types. I'll have to check them out. I thought they looked like small cages on carts for moving cargo around a settlement in low gravity environments to ensure they don't bounce off the cart.

It would have been great if the cages moved from the start point toward a destination, but they are static.

I saw a different type of protect mission last week, but none of my cronies were online at the time for me to check it out. Maybe next time.

There is also an anarchy based version of protect where the opponents are GalCop and turn up with "blues & 2's" going while dropping in, not found one of those to date.

Try finding a bark mound, they've been a reported problem for more than 18 months, they are indicated when you scan planets but you can fly around for hours and they are nowhere to be found.

If they don't intend on fixing something or if its not an easy/quick fix the very least they should do is remove the failed mission/item etc. from the game or introduce an alternative, not leave it for the players to experience an issue and then have to dig through the knowledge base to find a crusty old bug report with no fix or ETA for a fix and after that have to search forums etc. for an alternative or workaround (why are these not linked to the bug report?).

In the case of Bark Mounds they should prevent them indicating on planets and remove them from the Codex at least then you won't waste your time looking for them, or doing bugged missions (and thus pay the bounties for having to abandon them), or looking for stuff that isn't there (low spawn rate mats - why is there no alternative method introduced?) or having the game crash repeatedly (like Barnacle Forest's) etc.. etc... The list is quite substantial if you dig a little....

Bugs happen it's inevitable, how you deal with them and their impact to the players is in some ways more important than just focusing on fixing them (or not in a great many cases) - It shows at best a failing fire-fighting approach to incident/problem management or at worse a complete lack of care and respect for the players and thus these forums filled with frustrated and angry posts and comments like the one quoted....

Make sure you dont pick more than one at the same time and after you pick the mission go and get it done ASAP
These missions run on a 15 minutes timer usually.
Also, go there in your best dominator and with the best weapons - those missions can be really tough
