Anyone find Horizons reduced their desires to explore?

I was super excited about planetary landings. I waited to go coreward so I could equip a lander when Horizons came out.

Then the day came. 6 tons minimum for 1 SRV. The amount of damage 6+ tons do to an exploration vessel is staggering. Either I can't land and my Annie gets 40Ly, or I can and it gets 37.5. The damage to any other ship is far worse, hangars are just a lose/lose and thus I can't get myself to enjoy either choice. Those lost Ly mean a lot more commitment.

I don't explore at all now, not even the normal way. If it doesn't have a lander, meh. If it does, meh.

I'm still exploring with my cobra mkIII with a 2 slot hanger. I'm 6000ly out so far. I only took a 0.3ly hit from having a hanger. Are you trying to use the 6 slot hanger?

If only they had some sort of a way to double your jump range for those rare occasions when you actually need a 40+ly jump range.... Maybe it can even use some of those vitamins and minerals you find on the planet surface with your SRV.

Jumponium.

You'd need some extensive exploration of surface planets for that FSD boost, but it more than makes up for the jump loss.

Well you strapped a garage (with full instant repair facilities no less) to your ship, so yeah it should reduce your jump range.
You should complain more about the Anaconda having to haul around a minimum of 64 tonnes of sensors for no good reason.

I went all the way to SAG A* and back with an ASP and 1 SRV and 64t of fuel (6A fs). I survived :)

27.something LY was the range. It was ~2500 jumps out and back, I guess that's a lot but I explored and landed to and fro. Two weeks.

That probably wouldn't work for a Buckyball run :)
