Anyone had any weird keyboard issues?

Ok, so this is a long shot, but I figured I'd ask.

Occasionally (it is pretty rare), Elite will stop listening to my keyboard (Corsair mechanical thing with stupid rainbow lights - but I've tried it with another keyboard and get the same issue).

.... the keyboard still works, I can alt-tab out of Elite and Ctrl-Alt-Del to launch the task manager to kill it, but Elite seems to stop paying attention to any keyboard commands (like dropping out of frame shift).

The only thing I can think of is that my X52 flight stick isn't playing nicely (never had the problem before I plugged that in, but obviously I can't play Elite without it).

Has anyone else had similar issues?

The only issue I have had and heard of this kind, is a problem of exiting out of the in game comms panel. If you don't use the Escape key to come out it will "mute" most of the keyboard. Have a search around this forum for more info.

Yes, sometimes it acts as if I've entered an invisible sub-menu and it needs pressing esc to exit and continue to function temporarily. For example I cannot press the "Request docking" button when I approach a station. I press esc, functionality comes back but it will probably fail soon. I have to logoff to menu for it to behave normally again (until next time).

I think there is somewhere a race condition when I visit the galaxy and system map, but it's difficult to pinpoint.

I have exactly the same problem :-(

I have tried to notice under what circumstances this happens, but it seems to be completely random - regardless of what I do in the game, use the keyboard a lot or not at all. It works in all other applications. There is nothing to do but a hard game restart.

I get this from time to time.
Sometimes the switches on my J/S, or, less often, keys on my key-board stop responding.
I'm not a combat pilot, so I usually have more than one way of achieving a task, and can continue playing. If I continue playing, the problem may go away.

Happened twice in about 20 minutes. My ESC key doe not work. Ctrl Alt Delete works to exit with the task manager. It is happening more frequently lately.

YO I have problems with keyboard when NPC assin sent after me, When he shows up my keyboard commands dont work, I need to press button on my joy stick to take me to galaxy map then back to ship then keyboard commands return,,,,,,,,,,,

Try putting the joystick on a powered hub. All those pretty lights actually swallow a lot of power, maybe more than your pc's usb can handle

Turns out the keyboard issues were actually mechanical - the keyboard itself was a bit iffy (it finally stopped lighting up and working as a keyboard shortly after this point).

... I've no idea why Elite seemed to manifest these issues first, it was probably due to the amount of time I was spending playing it.
