Anyone Here a Pure Player Hunter?

Hunting other players down is my overall goal in this. Big bounties, long hunts, surprise and demolish tactics.

Is there anybody here who specializes in hunting down other players and big bounties? I'm sure I'll do plenty of NPC bounty hunting, but that'll get old fast I'm sure... will probably want to jump into player hunting real fast.

Any ways to locate players more quickly in this big universe OR is it only possible to come across people and big bounties at random (this would be a huge bummer)?

Let me know. Surely there must be players who strive to be player bounty hunters as much as I.... right?

It sure sounds like fun but it doesn't cover the bills. You have to do something else to get profit.

My advice - try major events. There's one organized by players and ongoing in Lugh system right now. Or try Sol, kinda popular place too. Should be a lot of players there.

I'd like to engage in PvP more often. It's just most players tend to try it out when they have enough millions in their pocket so my humble Eagle can't even lower shields of their "end-game ships" fast enough before they oneshot me :D So far I didn't saw much players that willing to risk at all. Sure I saw newbies who were hardly managed to dock here and there, attacking those felt like a crime. Other than that It's just fully kitted Asps and so on. I can't do much against them in my 250K worth semi-kitted frEagle. And frankly it's too boring for me to trade millions of credits in some bulky freighter that is barely able to turn. No tools (i.e. cheats :p) worth it while for me. So I've been training on the NPC's so far and eventually I will get there. Bountyhunting and stolen goods doesn't pay that well but it sure a lot of fun for me so it even things out.

I bet there would be people go that way but with the ability for players to bail out of PVP into the safe Solo mode its pretty useless to aim for that profession.

Is it even possible to follow someone (not only human ship)?

Because i have followd NPC which just in front of me jumped into the Nav Beacon, u jumped after him, but he wasn't there. Seemed like game put us in different instances after the jump.

Nah, I've seen it already in other games and it can be cured easily if you can find group of people that is willing to PvP among themselves and not bailing. It's totally doable. Problem is - ED is not some fast paced game so you have to plan ahead. And more importantly - there is no guaranteed way that you can gather together and engage in combat in the same instance. It might work but it might not too. I'm sure it will get better in the future but not now. Meanwhile I'll wait.

If you check the Galnet news when in stations, they nearly always display a 'most wanted / biggest bounties' for that system.
Viewing the list will give you a name, their bounty reward and last known location.

Good luck!

Correction, it's not for that system, it's for the whole galaxy.

2 days ago i met a player. I was not having any bountys on me and also no cargo. The M*r*n interdicted me nevertheless wasted loads of his missiles on me and caused me some hull repaircosts. Other than that and me thinking "what a m*r*n" he didnt reach anything with this attack. So pointless.

I think this'll will be what I go for too; or I might be the one rolling round with a big bounty looking for a fight, I think I need to make some more cash first though, but really looking forward to hunting people, I think there will be mechanics in game to help with this in the next 3-4 months,

Yeah, one of the best moments regarding fight is when i'm "wanted" and other CMDR interdict me and then i send him back to the space station in pieces :D

Thats why its called GRINDING because its"work." If ur to lazy to put in the work to grind the creds u will never have better ships. The min ship to BH is a Viper/Cobra. Eagles are crap unless ur really, really good as is the new Adder. I wiped myself on Tuesday so im back to harmless for a while and im already up to 150K and going upgrade to hauler tonight then Cobra, Type and then ASP. Once im at around 5 million in the ASP i will trick out a Viper and have fun BH in it while i grind for the Python in the ASP. The Python and Viper will be my two main combat ships and the ASP will be my main trade ship and jack of all trades.

these comments make me as a bounty hunter myself get hungry. ;)

It's very easy to avoid other players, even in open. There's no point in profession like this. If I don't want you to interdict me, you simply won't no matter how hard you try and if I tire of that before you do, I can disappear in normal space quite profficiently, and other tricks... (and I don't mean logging off, of course)

You'll starve if you're going to pursue this. :)

Alright, I'm mildly encouraged. Just like SWG.... player hunting won't pay the bills long term. Will need another way to earn... likely through BH missions and contracts on npcs (can't be a space trucker more than like an hour.... no fun for me, perhaps mining).

From what I can see... I need to grind up to a fully geared out cobra asap... as the freegle won't cut it for pvp. Alright, doable.

Thanks all for the information. Keep it coming.

I would advise you to get an Adder, refit it with grade D stuff, with railgun and cannons as weapons and then go bounty hunting npcs until you can afford a cobra.
I nearly managed to get an anaconda today with that setup, just bailed out too early because my canopy broke but it was down to 30 percent hull.

There are some quite juicy bounties out there, especially in anarchy system but you need an warrant scanner for that of course.

Also I think those "Top Bounty" boards are allegiance wide, not galaxy wide.

The DDF have some good ideas for player hunting.

I think it would be cool if they had like a 10 most wanted pirates or 10 most wanted murderers (killing innocent players)
Would be great for bragging rights 'Im a notorious pirate with a big bounty on my head' or 'I tracked 7th most wanted pirate through 5 systems but finally cornered and killed him'
I would also like to see some Assassination stuff like having a really good standing with the Federation means the Empire will pay other players top dollar to kill you.
