Anyone know the max jump distance yet?

Im not interested in exploring ever single system i come across, but more along the lines of reaching wayyyy out in deep space in hopes of finding something rarely seen.

I know there will be a fuel cost tied to it in the future which is why im concerned.

It will vary ship to ship depending on fuel capacity, which hyperdrive you have fitted, possibly the grade of fuel you are using and also possibly the quality of your nav data.

Time away from civilization will be restricted more by your ships systems degrading than fuel capacity, as you can scoop fuel while out there, explorer ships will have fuel scoops, long range tanks and self repair systems, these require raw materials and they can't repair hull damage.

Hm. So you are saying every system with a station will be automatically known and charted? While every untouched system is guaranteed to not have a station?

Stations are known and charted, but not by everyone. You have to buy map data or find these places yourself. I'm sure everyone will start with data about most of the core systems.

Well if it's got a station then clearly people have been there so they can set up refueling depots, repair facilities, shoe shops, cafe's etc... all inside this colossal space station.
If no one has been there, and unless stations have suddenly become sentient and gained the ability to reproduce and hyperspace long distances as well, then it stands to reason that any unexplored system will have no station.

You can look on a map and see a town. But you dont know whats there until you visit it.

You can hardly discover something that's on a map now can you ?
Actual discovery means that you're the first to see it. Not just the first one other than these 3000 who live there and the 500 that trade with them and the 12000 people who built the station there in the first place.

So what's it to be ...
Visiting places on a map or drawing the map because there isn't one yet ?
