I was messing around with the IPD config last night, doing it several times. Somehow though I've ended up with some weird issue.
I could go to the oculus forums but I thought I'd test the Elite community as there's no end to the experts here.
Basically before last night, when I'd put the lenses all the way forward, to the point where you can see the borders of the screen, in the corner of my eye they were straight lines. I.e. the screen looked like a square.
Now it's warped, with the lines quite concave. The image is thus stretched at the corners as if the FOV is too high.
What did I do?
I think it might be something to do with the eye relief I had it set to before I started the config? Can someone explain the mechanics of that? I was researching for like an hour last night but there's too much spam information on the rifts to make a google search that productive...
If someone could tell me exactly how to do the config utility properly (and not refer me to a mirror or some website that takes a picture of my credit card), i.e. what eye relief I should start at, etc. I'd be much obliged
EDIT
I've just been fiddling with it, and it seems like I've fixed it. I thought it's because I manually adjusted the Eye-relief setting, then I manually changed the IPD, then I ran the demo. It definitely fixed it but I can't seem to reproduce the effect. I wish there were more documentation on this...at least easy to find for a non-dev
