Anyone know what the type 6 does?

And the type 7 which does not even have a (public) model yet. because there is already the ZP hauler, and the type 9 for trading, surely the world does not need so many different ways to do something as mundane as *just* moving goods from point A to point B?

at the moment we have 16t and 440t for "pure" trading ships.
two upgrades in between won't hurt ;)

why not?

You are also assuming that the type 6 is purely a trade ship. The Anaconda has, traditionally, been a cargo hauler but I see people are turning it into a wannabe battleship and regularly use it for combat. I've also seen videos of the space cow, or rather the space bull, because that ship definitely had horns!

I would expect that come the 29th and going forward its going to take way way longer to upgrade ships. So it would be worth getting something in between the Cobra and the type 9.

Maybe if they'd give us a proper wannabe battleship (like either of the cutters) people wouldn't need to overhaul the anaconda so much :)

Of course if the anaconda wasn't so good at it maybe people wouldn't do it so much either :p

Either way, regardless that i don't intend to use any of Lakon's line, I'm hoping they can be used to do other industry things, like mining and prospecting, the market certainly does not need to be bloated with ships that are essentially empty rooms strapped to engines ;)

The type 6 doesn't actually look that big, if you look at the pilot's seat in the screenshot.

I think at the moment a freighter in the 30-60 tons range doesn't make much sense because the Cobra isn't much more than the Hauler. I think Premium Beta ship prices are to allow us to test them and aren't representative of final game prices.

The Cobra is a great all around ship and the Lakon type 9 is massive. I expect these ships to be really expensive in the final game. That would open up a big gap for other ships to fit in. Like 1500 says.

IMO the Hauler currently costs too much for what it is. I'd guess that the Hauler will drop in price until equal to/less than the Eagle and the Lakon 6 will fit in as a larger trade ship with equal to/better cargo capacity than the Cobra but somewhat cheaper to make up for inferior speed and combat capability.

I think its a mini lakon, maybe like a little van, and the 7 is like a big van, and the 9 is like a truck.

BTW this should be the type 7:

more or less (the original concept is now more than 1 year old so it could be really different in many details)

well, they are literally big haulers. i can see mostly the rich persons , that have affairs with industrials companies and such purchasings a dozens of these big cows :p

Have you seen the pilot's seat through the wind shield? There is no way that thing is carrying 200 tons.

Edit - whoa! my bad I hadn't looked carefully enough. I think you're right.

Well most of our cars on the road are very similar with many being basically identical other than slightly different aesthetics.

I'd like to see many more ships in Elite from different manufacturers in this regard.
