General / Off-Topic Anyone remember the old game theme park by Peter Moleyneux?

It was my favorite game at the time and it just wowed me. As far as I know it was the first theme park sim game and it pretty much set the standard for lots of things every theme park today does. I had it on the Amiga back in 1994. It's still the only theme park style game that has midway style games and let you set chances of winning

Yes I did, I was 11 back then when it was released.

At that time I enjoyed it very much. But I don't think I would play it again soon, as it's very outdated and options are very limited.

Of course I remember that game! It wasn't much of a builder game; For instance rollercoaster tracks couldn't even cross each other, there was one direction reserved for loopings and the other for corkscrews. But management/ simulation wise...It was ridiculously complex and engaging. Nothing comes close, not even today! If I remember correctly, you could manage company shares, shop inventory and stock, even staff union negotiations. I didn't understand half of what was going on back then, but I do remember the yearly award ceremonies and the rather tragic cutscene when you went bankrupt.

Yes i remember :D It was groundbreaking back then, and opened the Door for all the other Theme Park Simulations back then. Sadly the Serious took a sharp Nosedive with the last few additions to the Series, but that is NOTHING compared to what the RCT Franchise has to endure.

Today though i can't play it anymore. For all the Management Features there are it feels too limiting to enjoy. And once you found your groove it is a tad too easy. But that applies to a lot of Games ;)
