Yes. My grandma was in love with Sandokan. I remember watching it with her on weekends in early 1980's. 
And to be honest, I don't recall seeing the 20.000 Leagues. At least not this version, though I am, naturally, a great Verne's fan. Mainly the books, though. T.V. adaptations always lose something from the books' magic.

Talking about Verne? my favorite was the Mysterious Island where nemo only played a minor role.

If you remember Sandokan, then I am willing to bet that you also remember these two guys,
