Anyone run Elite at 4960x1600, across three monitors?

Hi guys!

I'm having some issues getting my setup right with the following screen config: 20" 1200x1600 (portrait), 30" 2560x1600 (landscape), 20" 1200x1600 (portrait). nVidia Surround does not seem to like the portrait-landscape-portrait setup, however some games have a workaround allowing them to run windowed, in 4960x1600, which then spreads perfectly across the three screens. Is this possible in Elite?

Works fine windowed, but it will not run in a higher res than my central monitor. I can move the window around wherever I want and the game works with no issues, but as I can't get the full 4960x1600 resolution it just ends up covering one monitor on the side and half the centre one.

Nobody got this to work? Editing the DisplaySettings.xml file to the correct (4960x1600) resolution works for about 5 seconds, then Elite evidently does a check and sees that the monitor does not support this resolution, and scales back down again.

I am no expert and just throw in idea. Can you disable that check that scales it down? Or lie your monitors resolution to it?

Yeah, that is my plan, but I can't find a way to cheat Elite (or Windows) into thinking that 4960x1600 is a valid resolution, and I can't find any option in the configs that seems to disable the check.

Edit: DCS allows for this monitor setup out of the box with minimal hassle, would be good if ED could get the same set up :)

I used to in eyefinity... until Horizons. The performance on the planets is so bad that I had to stop playing in eyefinity. :(

I miss being able to see straight ahead while looking at a menu.
