Anyone running a Rift with an AMD 390X?

Hi guys, I recieved my Rift CV1 last week, and I'm truly amazed with it, the immersion and size of it all it just totally game changing!

However, the graphics quality isn't alll that for me. I'm continually tweaking various settings with the wonderful EDProfiler tool, and I'm also setting the pixel override to 1.5 in the Oculus debug tool.
I'm not getting stuttering or anything like that, all in all the performance seems pretty good, but the stars are rather blurry and the lines and text a bit jagged etc. It doesn't come anywhere close to the graphics quality in 2D on my monitor.

Things seem a little better in the 2.2 beta, but it's still not wonderful resolution.

Any thoughts?

390X owner here. Your experience sounds like it matches mine and just about everyone else's even those with 1080s and Titan Xs. Not much we can do about the jaggies and blurry galaxy background. How much these are due to the low-ish resolution of the Rift or down to ED's graphics engine is anyone's guess - let's hope FD are able to improve the sharpness in time. The 1.6 version of the Oculus software improved the sharpness somewhat and the recent 1.8 update improved black levels slightly so there is also hope that Oculus will be able to further tweak graphics quality through software.

I've had the Rift for a few months and I still mess about once in a while trying to find the sweet spot for the in-game settings and the debug tool. If I have the PD set to 1.5 (and SS to 0.75) I find the text to be very sharp, especially in the starport services menu (not so much in the cockpit which needs 2.0 to see a noticeable difference). I use the NO2O Turquoise-Deep Sky UI colours, dashboard brightness on 1 or 2 and gamma on 0.4.

I don't play in the Rift all the time, I find my eyes get sore after a while - I often play on my 34" 3440x1440 screen (Ultra settings) just to get my resolution fix :)

Thanks for your reply bud. Good to know at least, that I've not got anything drastically wrong and I don't need a new Graphics card!

Like yourself, I can't see me playing in the rift all the time. I did switch back to 2D last night for a bit, it felt so small!

I'll try your settings tonight, many thanks :)
