They don't, as I understand.
They did, in beta and gamma phases but were not removed until much later, but if you never sold them you would still have them.
This was my understanding. If they were removed much later, they are still removed, and thus, don't exist. Is this not correct?
Around Gamma there were a few exotic weapons being tested, and many people had them. They were removed from sale later, but those who had them kept them (i.e. FD did not strip them of the modules).
I could be wrong though. I missed most of Gamma due to illness.
I was under the impression that they just reverted to their default weapon? Stealth laser become beam laser, etc.
That is possible. Nothing was said in late development and release about it though, prompting many to think they were still available and triggering epic, fruitless searches.
