Ships Anyone tried engineering Edmund Mahon's Retribution laser with Thermal Shock?

I have not tried, but from what I remember others saying the laser itself could not cook a lasagna, let alone another ship. Since heat has been nerfed silly I doubt a small with it on would do much harm, even if you went all in and had them in every slot.
The other problem is that even if it could heat up a ship your opponent (if human) is probably rocking thermal conduit that makes weapons 60% more powerful over 100% heat- so you'd be almost hurting yourself hurting them.

Also, its fixed and the effect only works if it hits continuously - which with a fixed beam is a nightmare.
Braise Kumo burgers only I guess dumb thing, Mahons fault.
