Hardware & Technical anyone who has setup bluesoleil, freetrack and wiimote w/ USB Sensor bar I need help

Hi All,

Rocketfish Micro Bluetooth USB adapter
Win7 and the "trial" of Bluesoleil.
Numerous generations of Wiimotes
USB Wii Sensor Bar by Plantronics (Also tried my first gen bar I modded to 4 pin)

What I did:

Installed Rocketfish, let windows assign drivers.

Held down 1+2 blue lights blink (4)

Start searching for device in windows Bluetooth panel (also did this with Bluesoleil!)

Once it found the device and name, all 4 lights still blink. In Bluesoleil at this point I would "connect" the device.

Open up Freetrack 2.2 (latest download from their website, and I have also tried OpenTrack too) and it see's my wiimote but the start button is grayed out, so I hit the A button on controller and the head shows up and I see the 30fps etc in green and the "start" button while still "grey" shows "stop" now instead of start. Progress, or so I thought!

Now, I check my cap I made from my first sensor bar, and then I try the premade USB one from plantonics. No signs of the Wiimote seeing it. I open up Opentrack and it says no "video devices found on system" even when the "Joystick" option is selected and I choose the WIImote.

Ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling everything from scratch as I noticed there was two versions of Freetrack installed, one was 2.2.0.279, the other was a couple versions earlier @ I believe 2.2.0.243 or something similar. Now at this point, I only see the one version of Freetrack, I again setup the Bluetooth device and re-attach the wiimote to my pc (this time I held down the reset button also just to see).

all problems still exist as above now, but now when I hit the A button the wiimote never actually shows the head in freetrack anymore, nor the FPS or JPS get green. I am really getting frustrated, I would love to be able to use some head tracking in Elite and I don't have 150 to just throw on a new TrackIR. All of this stuff I already had in my house and would love some help or input on getting it to work.

I have also tried moving the USB to a USB 3 slot to hope the Led's were getting enough power, Ive tried every possible sensitivity setting, and turned the thresh hold all the way up and down. I see in Bluesoleil that the nintendo controller is connected and it shows green and red dots flowing between the icon of the device and yellow button in center of screen but still no actual "capture" of video from the wiimote.

Thoughts?

I guess something else is going on. Found my old PS2 eye, installed it and although it recognized the sensor bar LED's, when I actually move my head around it doesn't do anything. When I get in game, looking left and right doesn't function and tilting my head left and right causes extreme turn around on camera then controls dump and I can't use any in game head movement, even key induced.

As for opentrack, a joystick's not a video device so the message is correct.

Select the joystick device from dropdown menu in "tracker source" options window while "joystick"'s the current "tracking source" used.

As input's commanded on the joystick device, will be translated according to what you decided in mapping window. If you ignore the bolded part, there'll be no input and that's the most common FAQ so far.

With inertial devices, hardly need for filtering so disable it altogether rather than assuming a malfunction, when the reason's misconfiguration of the software.

I have my mappings already set but I'll keep playing with them. Do you have suggestions as to a good base to start @ since Ive been just stabbing the dark off what I can find online for info? I also will try disabling any filtering.

For an inertial device, set all to 1:1 mappings, 180 means 180. Just one circle (control point), a straight line.
