Anyone with an X55 that can help me out?

I've assigned vertical left/right to the upper scroll button as shown here: http://i.imgur.com/QmjFNzr.png
However the vertical thrust does not react unless I pull the scroll ALL the way to the left or right.. Is there any way to make it progressive?

EDIT: I meant horizontal

Using X55 but I have it at the upper coolie-hat of the throttle unit like the standard setting from ED for the X55 is. If you can not configure this as an axis I assume it only reacts when fully scrolled.

By the way, why laying it there? It is very much uncomfortable to reach.

Sorry I meant horizontal.. The vertical is on the buttons behind the throttle

Hey,

When in control options, make sure you have it bound to the axis, not the separate 'up', 'down', 'left', 'right', 'forward', 'backward' options.

I actually have thrust forward backward bound to that button.

Cheers,

How do I do that? I'm in the rhino software, but I can't find an option for this

Actually he's likely referring to the in-game controls options. ED natively supports the x55 so it's not actually necessary to setup a profile in the rhino software unless you just really want to.

I've got an x55 as well, lovin it. =)

Hey,

What Raistlin said. Go to the control options in Elite: Dangerous and bind it to the axis.

Cheers,

FYI - The throttle black mouse nub thingy doesn't work very well at all (i'm using kinder words than I'd like). Everything else works wonderfully. You can't really map the nub to any bindings directly, they wont work... but I was told you could program it in the x55 software for some functions but you MUST put a 60% dead-zone in the center. I haven't bothered. If you flip the nub in the x55 software, you can witness how flaky it is.

I took the default X55 setting, then tweaked from there. The x55 thread linked earlier is a great place to start.. I customized further for myself. My customizations are mostly with the throttle buttons and switches. Once set, it took a day or two to finally get completely use to the arrangement... for a few hours I had to keep peeking down at the sheet to remind myself what button did what.

I have the X55. I think the problem is the vertical / horizontal thrust is a digital control (on or off) the thumb wheel is analogue so it just has a point where it's on. I used those wheels for various thrust options and it was a HUGE mistake. If you land and don't zero them or fiddled with them before you load the game you can go zooming off and splat into a wall before you know what the hell's going on.
