Anyones have a DK2 that still works? Mine doesn't, not just me.

I'm too poor to upgrade VR headset (lol i cry right)

I have a hopefully perfectly fine DK2 that either no longer works (orange light, head tracking still works and black screen) or a driver / software compat issue.

Seems to be happening to a lot of people recently and have been googling for the solution for two days now. Tried rolling back drivers, using latest oculus runtime, even tried using 0.8.0.0 legacy runtime, still had black screen :( Anyone solved an issue like this? Could use some help.

I'm 20 jumps from SAG A and have never been there, and not doing the journey till I have VR working again! (otherwise I might cry again)

help!

windows 10 (should be updated)
runtime oculus (latest as of post date)
nvidia 1060 GTX 6 GB
driver (tried many but using 382.something right now)
16 gb ram
i5 3.4ghz quad core
(sorry for lack of specifics)

thanks from Dylan...

I read there was a problem with dk2 and amd gpus in the latest oculus release but nothing about nvidia.

Ill see if mine still works when i get home, will report back in five or so hours.

I also have dk2 running with ED and all good for me.
nvidia GTX1080
i5 4570k
windows10

Sorry could'nt help you more.

thanks ziddan, i cant run oculus home or steam vr even, screen stays black, is my screen gone? light should still be blue not orange?

my issue is on a 1060 gtx, i wonder does anyone else run thier dk2 on a 1060? there seemed to be issues with the 700 series, but i dont know why me lol.

sec gonna research something myself.

I doubt your 1060 itself is the problem, it uses the same drivers as vics 1080 and my 970.

There might be some problem with the driver version you have installed but it seems unlikely that the card itself is at fault.

Have you tried/checked:
what oculus says in settings->devices
button on the HMD itself
cables going into the hmd under the cover on the top front
different output on the gfx card
different usb ports
sync cable from the box on the usb cable and the sensor

I agree that the LED on the HMD should still be lighting up blue if the HMD thought it was on but the screen wasnt working.

yeah i checked all those, reinstalled oculus a number of times, tried older and newer drivers, everything appears normal except screen in black and light doesnt turn blue, even the software says the HDMI is connected and green lights everywhere in the device settings. cables look perfect and different USB ports have same result. :( Globally I think this is oculus software playing up with maybe current version of windows or some drivers? I looked on similar issues others have on reddit and seems to me AMD have it worse lol.

That sucks man, the dk2 is still a wonderful device, i doubt i would have gotten a vive if it hadnt been for the wands and room scale, display qualit is better sure but it isnt by an order of magnitude.

I know with the prerelease oculus runtime there were cleaners that cleared out the full software package and drivers, have you tried something like that and done a fresh install rather than unsing the uninstall throuhg windows?

Do you have acess toanother computer to try the dk2 with?

Is there a simple way for me to make a clone of my exact oculus home and oculus drivers and sending them over to you to try?

I really hope it gets sorted.

My DK2 died earlier in the year. It kept disconnecting and staying blank. Bought another DK2 in the end. Now all is good again.

I think the best test you can do is test it on another PC. Annoying I know but beg your mate and set it up on their PC. put your graphics card in to their machine if you have to. The DK2 is known to just fail over time. They were not built to last.

Try to unplug and plug back the cable from that little box that sits on the wires between the sensor and HMD . Once, even when seemingly plugged in correctly and firm in it's place, i couldn't get mine to work until i did that.
Hope it's not broken. Good luck.

[FIXED] yaaay after 5 days and almost giving up, it started working after another go at moving some cables and switching the HDMI from my GPU hdmi port to the DVI-HDMI adaptor the DK2 came with... still don't know the root cause of the problem, I hope my 1060 doesn't have a bad HDMI port but yeah it works now. thanks guys.
