Anyway to integrate Sidewinder Radio in VR

I would love to have a button on my joystick to start the radio and also to mute sound effects.

Possbile in VR? Without leaving cockpit or removing headset?

Relatively simple if you're good scripting with voice attack and python. I used to use my G19 to control before ED which should also work well (assuming you have a G!9 or similar of course)

Here's a good video of voice attack to control VLC:

You should be able to adapt it to tune into RS.

and the G19 App which usually has RS as one of the many stations.

As for muting Elite, don't think that's possible unless you set a macro up for it and doubt its possible to automatically do it. What I do is set VLC higher than game volume and then use VA to lower VLC volume when needed.

ALright, but how can I mute sound in Elite to avoid it drowning the radio? Without going to exit panel

Why would you even want to do that? You’re in a spaceship listening to the radio and there are ambient sounds, this is realistic and immersive.

I'm not sure why he would want to mute the ingame sounds either - sure turn off the in game music but surely you want to hear your ship and any ATC voices etc while listening to your own music. Well thats how I use VLC at least.

Exactly this.

Try it, mute all sounds and play SideWinder radio while mining or exploring. Its really fantastic. A whole different atmosphere.
If you have seen 2001 a space odyssey when the space ship is approaching the space station then you understand :)

Internet radio (including lave, and sidewinder) is available as a voice pack add on through HCS voice packs forum.
