Hey, I would like to know why I can't just edit stuff I bought or change the color of paintjobs. To me its like going to a car dealership and you want to buy the stuff you like but they force you to go through them just to change the color of your vehicle and if you ever decided to go to the hardware store and buy your own paint they will just try and stop you.
I know how to make my own stuff but tbh, what keeps me playing is what I can see on the screen on top of gameplay. I don't care if other players wont be able to see my paintjob changes but pretending like I won't buy content to support the game just because I could take a week to make 1 paintjob since its a complicated buisness is like saying just because I can make my own food I wont go to the restaurant.
I am getting really frustrated by this and really would like to see texture files decompressed in the future or at least give us the ability to use tools so we can alter the way our ships look on stuff we paid for. If I like the new stuff I will buy it but solid gold plated ships looks not only ugly but its just bad taste! Especially when others can't see the changes made!
This game's main platform is PC and that comes with mod compatibility. There is more effort put into compiling your textures than work put into outputting decent content and there is no reason to do that especially when I've probably paid more in paid content than I should have. Give us options, stop putting solid colors behind paywalls or pretending everyone wants to pay for stuff that takes 2 minutes to change in a image software... Its insulting at this point.
