Apex Interstellar and the Colonia Connection Highway

Increase Apex Interstellar's maximum offered range by a factor of four or five. Give their ships fuel scoops or perhaps issue those poor pilots a less awful ship in the first place. It's kind of absurd that this service apparently goes to the trouble of maintaining offices on the various starports and ships of the Colonia Connection Highway only to lack the ability to take you anywhere out of system. At the very least they should be able to take you to the next station or ship in the chain.

Even if we skip over the math fails, not sure we need Johnny Cabs taking us to Colonia

All that planet-killing AFK gameplay as you hop slowly that 1000 jumps an Apex would take to get to Colonia. Ugh.

Just take a taxi FC like everyone else who doesn't like to fly and save fdev the time & energy of implementing it (y)

While I don't necessarily disagree with your points (I'd just hop on a fleet carrier too if I didn't want to drive myself), but for the sake of in-game logic, I would actually support giving Apex more range for those commanders that are more Odyssey gameplay inclined. I certainly used Apex a lot when first starting out after resetting as it was both a new feature since I started my first commander seven-ish years ago and I wanted to see what it was like 'early-game', but also it was sometimes quicker than taking my unmodified Sidewinder.

I still use it on occasion for various reasons, most of the time for no reason other than a change of pace. I have no issue with the concept of making Colonia accessible via Apex for those willing to slog it out, especially as the facilities are on the carriers with no other real purpose.

I would like this world to make more sense. Why would Apex maintain offices and personnel on 56 megaships and several other stations along this 'highway' when their ships' range is so arbitrarily constrained as to be unable to transport anyone along even one leg of the trip? Some of these stations (most?) don't even have in-system destinations available. What is their purpose then? Why is Apex paying them to be there? I don't know about you, but for me this is one more thing that flushes verisimilitude right out of the airlock.

Clearly this is a low priority suggestion. This is something that I personally wouldn't use all that often, if at all. There are a lot of things in this game that are possible that I appreciate being possible that I will probably never take advantage of. It's possible to fly across at least the vast majority of the galaxy without a fuel scoop or to circumnavigate an entire planet or moon in an SRV. I probably won't do either of those things, but I appreciate that such things are possible and the world FDev has built is better for it. Let's be honest: we don't need 400 billion stars either, but I for one wouldn't have it any other way. There are plenty of things that we could excise from the game to save FDev the time and energy of maintaining, but we damn well shouldn't as we'd all be poorer for it.

Anyway, that's all I have to say about this. It's a small thing, but I think it would improve the world a bit.

It would be a nice addition to have a specific carrier, possibly a branch of Apex, that only serves the CB stations (in addition to the normal 100ly service, which is just the default and is therefore included, no matter the limited utility).

I suspect it would be too complicated to introduce the code for it, however, when compared to its limited use and utility/popularity, and therefore its priority would be borderline negative.

The idea that one could go to Colonia without flying a ship and not having to rely on someone else's FC is fascinating.

One could write a travel log about it, except for the fact that there are not many on foot activities to be done along the route, so it can be quite uneventful.

Well solution is quite simple:
1. Book a ticked in cryo pod.
2. Watch Commander entering cryo pod for duration of the trip (working in offline mode) with ETA shown over pod for the duration of the trip (working in offline mode too).
3. Watch Commander exiting cryo pod once ETA counter goes down to zero then going back to activities in new region of space.
