Apex still allows players to select destinations where it is not possible to disembark

Feedback was given during the alpha but it seems the issue is still present in the release version:

Issue: The game allows players to select Apex destinations where you can not disembark (extreme temperatures or gravity, or bugged Apex circling without landing). Since players can not issue a new destination order to Apex, and can not self destruct, the only workarounds at the moment are to get killed by another pilot (if on a surface landing pad, "Destruction Rats" anyone?) or to re log in EDHorizons.

Possible solutions:
  • Limit the ability of Apex to accept an order to a non disembarkable destination, like they currently do for settlements under a CZ state.
  • Implement a way for players to rerout the Apex ship they are in at any time during their trip to a new destination, even if at an additional cost/fee. This will also serve as workaround for the issues of bugged Apex circling their target destination without landing.
  • Eliminate all destination settlements from planets with extreme tempartures or gravity

I think the game needs a "suicide" option, which will be always available (no matter if in anyones ship, SRV, foot). One time in alphy I encountered a situation where the only solution has been "let the game idle for hours until you die".
Self destroy did often help in ED/EDH when getting stuck but when you are on foot or in someones else ship you just can't use that.
As a developer myself I know there is no such thing as a bug free software, but it's always good to implement a plan B (resetting the savegame is no plan B but a nuke)

How about, since these planets don't have atmospheres really, we just not prevent people from disembarking?

Frontier's take on temperature safety isn't very realistic here. We could just as easily put someone on mercury as we could the moon, with today's technology. ED humans can withstand 50G's of acceleration, far more even if you consider collisions, but our boots are made of plastic? Our shield can withstand plasma shots but not a little extra UV rad? come on...

At most a little energy or health drain, but for dramatic effect and sense of urgency. < No you can't withstand standing on a 900k pile of dirt even though you can practically spend 95% of your time off the ground because it's .06 G, not allowed > this is silly. Of all the vast majority of subjects this game makes no attempt to be anywhere near realistic, they make one attempt, miss the realism mark still, and just use it to lock players out of walking around. There's no good reason for that.

Solution: Remove the temp limit and let us walk on the sun.

I'd be happy with a 'you want to get out here? fine!' option. And then I can sprint for the nearest shade/shelter before I die.
