Hitting the windows key doesn't exit you from the client. to do that you would either have to have a system crash or quit. Alt F4 perhaps

If I'm in borderless mode, I often find on my system that starting another application will cause the window to hide itself and be unrecoverable. So I have to close it to restart it.

Not saying that happened here, just pointing out that is possible

Well all I know is that the screen went black, my desktop then came up, flickered momentarily and my computer shut down and rebooted. I only hit one button and it must have been the Windows button; its next to my customised key setup of 'Alt' for right systems panel. I've had the Windows button cause similar problems before. The 40 degree celcius heat might be a factor but at any rate, those who know me from Beta know that I take my licks in PvP.

Just wanted to apologise for a crippling failure at my end.

Alt f4 doesn't work, you'd have to actually hotkey a command line kill to drop out instantly, but it sounds like he was already taxing his system in the fire and brimstone of the conflict zone and trying to alt tab just made his PC throw up the white flag.
