Apology to Commander G805T

No idea where else to put this as (probly understandably) the guy wouldn't add me to his friends list so I could apologise.

Was pirating folks, and accidentally destroyed this guy instead of taking out the last couple percent of his thrusters.

First one to die out of a whole lot of commanders.

So... if you read this, didn't actually mean to kill you, just take your thrusters out to stop you from running.

Another reason I'd REALLY REALLY like a weapon that does 0% damage to hull (and nope... archons weapon also does 0% to modules so...) I want to CHOOSE if I'm going to kill someone or not.

You need to do this several times to attain the rank "Pirate". Due out in Version 3.1.

Use scramble spectrum laser or use missiles. Missiles are perfect at taking out fleeing targets drives.

Yeah, I actually was using missiles, and it worked MOST of the time... I just didn't quite check his hull percentage until I'd clready hit the launch button, and the resultant splash damage was enough to knock off the last bit...

You have a choice. Start working for your money, instead of taking others.

Haha, I guess your right in a way.

The kind of pirate who makes you want to play in Open. +rep CMDR !

Want to give OPEN a chance FD ? Instead of killing you devs repeatedly on a stream (which, *NEWSFLASH*, is fun to watch but not that exciting to reproduce in game !) , give those pirates this.

You are doing this whole piracy thing correct. From an Alpha player I will just say you are a rarity, and I salute you.

First of all piracy is advertised as a legit profession in this game. Second of all pirates work for their money as it is the least profitable way to play the game. All the rest of the careers have creds thrown at them for alot less effort

This is an area where Frontier could learn a lot from the way EvE Online does it.

In Eve you have several modules that disable an enemy without actually doing damage:
-Warp scrambler to disable hyperdrive
-Webs to slow down the craft
-ECM to break locks
-Sensor dampeners to reduce the target's targeting range
-Energy vampires to drain the target's energy reserves

It allowed you to keep people completely helpless and at your mercy.
Mercy that can be bought for a certain price of course...arrr....

Edit: That being said, most piracy was just blowing the hell out of a lot of noobs for lulzngigglez.

Nice to know there is an old school pirate out there the last one I encountered was good old SubSync, but that was over a year ago. The game needs these Cmdrs unfortunately only the other type get all the publicity.

Rep to you OP

True, but at least, if you knew what you were doing, you had a very good chance to survive. I earned zillions of isks exploring low sec with a quad warp stabs magnate. In E D, aside from Hi Waking, there is no real way to counter human players if you fly a non combat ship.

We made zillions camping places like Rancer and Aunenen. Stacks of warp bubbles and a constant stream of lazy autopiloting human moneysbags to farm.

And what you say is true indeed, there were good counters to most of the weapons.
Cap transfer, remote shield boosting, ECCM, warp core stabilizers.

The commander in question added me to his friends list, and I managed to explain what happened.

All is good, even managed to exchange a few tips about the game.

I was worried I had inadvertantly driven someone away from either the game, or open. Seems not!

A good outcome, Cmdr.

My outlook is to always try and put right a wrong, regardless of how much effort is needed. It makes sleeping at night much easier.

Well done.

Kind regards
