AppConfig.xml options into menu

Please FD - would you be so kind as to include in the menu's the ability to switch between uPnP and port forwarding ?

Every patch you reset the AppConfig.xml file to defaults which uses uPnP (insecure and unwise) and if I forget to reset it back to port-forwarding multiplayer is unpredictable.

To give players confidence include a "test" function - a lot of people bash your netcode and this could at least go a long way to establishing the fault isn't at the user end.

Ermm, yeah why are we still having to go into config files since 1.0 to configure the game?

You would think they should allow it in-game now.

What about AppConfigLocal.xml - does that get deleted? I keep meaning to test this with the next patch but of course always forgot. I think it's a bit hit-and-miss.

I've put my verbose netlog stuff in there so will see if it gets deleted during the next patch.

No it doesn't get deleted or overwritten / whatever. My AppConfigLocal.xml file dated November is still there, unaltered.

BTW - I thought we didn't need the verbose logging after 2.1 - wasn't it supposed to be included as default after that update? (I still have it in my AppConfigLocal.xml anyway.)

Thanks, good to know. Thought I remembered some people saying it had been deleted. Perhaps it is dependant on circumstances.

I think that was just for beta, though not 100% sure. I've just left it in for bug reporting purposes. Doesn't seem to affect performance for me but YMMV.
