Application Focus Problem

I opened a ticket for this already, but I just wondered if anyone else experiences it....

Often as I'm playing, the game window will seem to pop out of focus. I see the game mouse cursor is replaced with the standard windows pointer. In this situation, I'm still in control of my ship via my XBox 360 controller, but I've lost keyboard input (typing results in the 'system ding'). The only way to get back is to click the mouse, which minimises the game window and drops me to the desktop. I can then re-focus on the game by clicking the icon on the taskbar.

I'm also seeing this. Thankfully I have not been in a situation where it's been dangerous, like docking or in a fight.

(this is the most recent thread on this topic I've seen so I thought I'd check to see if anyone else has found a workaround.

I've flown into a sun before now courtesy of a java update popup!

are you running full screen or borderless? You could either and see if it makes a difference.

Just chiming in to say I get the same issue at least once per long play session. I play full screen.

GTX-780 ti
16 GB ram

3 monitors though only the center one is used for the game (3 different sized monitors)

Try switching to borderless window, it has fixed the issue for others. It also makes alt-tabing out of the game much smoother.

Can confirm this doesn't happen in borderless window (pop-ups will still defocus the game).

Check your system notification indicator on the lower right of your desktop near the clock. That pinging is the usual culprit if you can't see any dialogs that have opened.

Thanks, i'll try borderless again.
Using multiple monitors can cause problems with the mouse travelling outside the window frame to teh other monitor. at least it has in other games.

I'll check the notifications area again. See if there's anything I can disable.

My borderless game window sits on the central monitor of a triple-head. I don't have an issue with the mouse moving outside the window if the focus is on the game. But I do only use the mouse in the galaxy map, it may be different if you use it for ship control.

I use a T Flight HOTAS X setup so maybe I wont run into the issue.
