Approximated time played can't be right

Hello,

I've been playing ED since February 2018 or so, while in my game stats it says 'Approximate time played' ~ 18 weeks

Now if we have 18 weeks * 7 days in a week * 24 hours in a day = 3024 hours played

Since February 2018 until now let's say it is like 400 days

3024 hours / 400 days = 7.5 hours played per day!!

No way I've been played 7.5 hours each and every day during this year. I barely play a couple of hours on sundays and sometimes during week days.

I think I must be around 1000 hours played max, that would be like a couple of hours every day and still it is too much time.

And no, I do not leave the game open, at least not usually. Most of the times I always return to the main menu if I'm not playing the game.

So, is this a known behavior? I agree it is 'approximate' but it has already count at least three times the time being really played.

Not the launcher?
Main Menu counts as game time, since the game is open.

Yes, when I don't play I go back to the Main Menu, not the launcher. Otherwise I would have to wait for the full game to load everytime I do a little pause.

Nevertheless, I did a small test some days ago and the Main Menu didn't seem to elapse the time. Are you sure about this?

Now that I think about it, even counting the hours in the Main Menu it doesn't match.
That would be like 7.5 hours every day, that's crazy.

i wish it was tied to commander life, having run hard core mode (death means start a new commander) its weird seeing a new commander that has weeks listed

I wish Flight Time was measured, rather than game time played.

Yeah, broken down by ship - I want to know how long I've spent in each of my ships.

I agree, something is wrong with the "time played" mechanic. You would have to leave your game on during runs to Hutton Orbital in order to play that much. You could live your REEAL life while the game is flying to the station.

I've a sneaking suspicion the garage mechanic at the dock takes my ship out for errands or for thrill rides with his girlfriend. We need a "distance travelled" odometer on the ships so I can prove this and have him prosecuted.
