AR-50 stability v mag size?

I'd go for magazine size. Stability might let you get more shots on target, but 50% extra rounds in the magazine will more than compensate for that.

I wouldn't say that the AR has much spread, just some recoil really which you can compensate for yourself. Magazine size is indeed the better choice.

The biggest issue with the kinetic weapons is the awkwardly low velocity of the projectiles, which no current mod can alleviate unfortunately.

I test fired my weapons at rocks, and where available, with mods. When fired, the weapon muzzle climbs. In some cases enough to miss the target, and the longer the range, the more pronounced. Auto weapons climb significantly and there is also lateral round dispersion, and again the longer the range the more pronounced. Stability reduces climb and lateral dispersion.

Even with increased mag size, you are still going to be reloading before the mag is empty to max rounds available. If 40 rounds are not enough, a rethink may be required. And having the suit mod for extra ammo capacity, 'cos you are going to burn through ammo.

However, it all comes down to personal preference as to which mods are the best. Go with what you feel comfortable with, bearing in mind that mods cannot be changed. If anything, do not add one of those mods until your experience tells you which one you really want.

Steve 07 (whose usual CMDR's Maverick loadout is a noisy C-44 and Tormentor [audio masked and noise suppressed]).

With mods not being changeable on weapons the purpose of the weapon becomes all important. I’ve kitted out a loadout for sneaky base clearing and assassinations making use of noise suppression and audio masking plus two mods to mitigate the downsides of that particular weapon in my hands. Great for its purpose but now a poor choice for ground CZs.

I‘m slowly taking my AR-50 from G3, bought at that level with Greater Range, to G5 with the purpose of using it in combat zones. Noise is of little matter IMO in that circumstance so things like stability, ammo capacity, spread etc are things to look at. I’d suggest once you’ve got it to a grade you’re happy with and used it for a while you’ll know which areas you need to focus on for improvement for its intended purpose.

As an example, but using suits, I decided I’d make better use of Improved Jump Assist on my Dominator suit than Combat Movement which I’d assumed I would go for, just because that’s the way I play/fight in a CZ.

I wouldn’t be in a rush to mod things until you know how you’ll use a weapon or suit unless you’re happy to experiment and collect the required materials.
