Are Alien Artefacts and Obelisk Data any use to me?

I'm currently on my way to Colonia, and have stopped off at the catchily-named Skaudai AM-B D14-138 AB 7 A to explore the ancient sites there.

There's plenty of obelisk data to collect, and alien artefacts to collect as well. My question is, what can I use them for? Are they really of any use or value to me at all?

Not really.. unless you get all 100 of the obelisk data log thingys and complete Ram Tah's 100million credit mission.

The artifacts themselves serve no purpose, although the "anicent orb" does make a good SRV football, can be a laugh with a few friends.

Game design from hell: Do something incredibly tedious for incredibly long time and get an incredibly out-of-proportion reward. Otherwise, waste your time.

I still have the Alpha, beta etc data - in case it's ever used by Engineers or something. Of course, I'm not holding my breath...

thats ED in a nutshell, and evertyhin in proportion is then called an "exploit" by those poeple prefering their tideous tasks.

Short answer - probably not.

There was one CG that requested obelisk data, but that was some time ago. I guess they could do another, but we don't have enough data space to hang onto stuff 'just in case.'

The artefacts can be sold for a small amount as commodities.

Other than that, I'm not aware of any use for them, currently.
