Are all the Wolf Rayets Tagged?

Just wondering.

My expectation is that all of the WRs in the galaxy have been tagged by now... particularly since they are pretty much all [SECTOR NAME] AA-A H0/H1 - which makes them unbelievably easy to search for in the GalMap, and pretty much every single AA-A H or G0/G1 that I've passed via has a CMDR Tag on it, regardless of the star type...

Anyone have any thoughts on whether there are still a few untagged out there?

It's low-hanging fruit, so the majority of them will be tagged by now. But all? The only way to find that out for certain is to go visit all of them.

In the meantime, it looks like EDAstro has a list of all Wolf-Rayets uploaded to EDSM. 17,214 entries. You could get the sectors from that, compare with the list of sectors, and that should give you a good idea where people have been.

Oh hey, looks like there are still new ones uploaded daily.

Really - this is a surprise to me - and provides a little motivation to get searching - even though I think the search may prove futile for a low-hours CMDR such as myself...

Thanks for the heads up :)

Wait, these sector codes mean something?

I'm late to the party too matey. P'r'haps because I don't use other resources? Despite being Elite Exploration (and then some) on 2 different CMDRs...

But lately the penny has just dropped and I begin to understand the naming shizzle.

Meanwhile, there's something I've been thinking of declaring for a old old while now - Matt Smith and Capaldi were better Doctors. You might want to do something about your Avatar?

Capaldi was my avatar for the majority of my time on the forum (his attitude and mine are a good match), but I could never do a good Capaldi imitation in Holome. Matt Smith was a clown in Dr. Who IMO (though I like him in other shows / media), and I actually really liked David Tennant. But ultimately it boiled down to my ability to make a holome that closely resembles Tennant but not Capaldi.

Jenny, my alt, is modeled after his daughter in the show.

In the last few days I've found two untagged AA-A H stars (both were O). Also, Smoju AA-A H0 is a Wolf Rayet that is probably untagged because there doesn't appear to be any way to reach it.

I found a half-dozen in a sector with almost all H-mass systems untagged yesterday. You will need to go a good way away from any commonly taken routes, though.

I've started my first serious exploration tour about 4 months ago, and I'm still out there. I managed to get first discovery on all types but the "pure W" one. NC: 3, N: 2, C: 2, O: 5. So yes, it's very much still possible. Getting one without any additional spectral lines seems to be challenging however, just like with the "pure C" carbon stars. Haven't seen any of those yet either.

Best bet is the surroundings of the galactic centre in my (not so great) experience, when it comes to discovering new Wolf-Rayet stars.

Just hit one about an hour ago near the the core. Still some hiding out there.
All the previous ones I have come across were white, blue.

I've seen two orange ones too, and one that had the purple-red color of a class L brown dwarf. None of them were first discoveries for me though, as far as I can remember.

@Eahlstan: But have all of the hand made ones been discovered?

Edit: Here's the red one:

Edit 2: Whoops, seems that was a first discovery for me though... and not even handed in yet.

That's a question noone outside Frontier can answer.
There are currently 77 hand made WRs known.
E: D was released 2014, but the Stellar Forge had to be run early in development, so it might have been a few years earlier.
Currently there are 662 WRs known in our galaxy (see Galactic Wolf Rayet Catalogue), 2014 639 WRs were known and 2011 546 WRs were known. So there might be dozens of undiscovered hand made WRs or there might be zero or any number in between.

Edit:

I found one: V429 Carinae, I don't know if this one is reacheable though.

Who, of course, is both Tennant's real-life wife, and Peter Davison's daughter.
