Are comets not a thing?

Been out exploring for a bit. Found all sorts of stuff, but no comets. Are they not in the game or does the advanced discovery scanner not see them? If the latter how can you find one?

I`m sure there were comets in the original concept for the system map.

Or am I just missing something?

They are implemented in code apperently, but there is no visual representation of them yet. They appeared in your scans previously, but they might have hidden that now to avoid confusion. (Makes you wonder what more might be in the game already in terms of code beyond just comets )

They are also described in the original mining proposal:

Frozen Liquid Bodies(Comets)

• These work in a similar way to other bodies, but different equipment is required for extraction
• Lower powered mining lasers are used extract chunks without melting them, these can then be collected in the same way as mineral bodies
• Players can travel behind a comet and scoop their trails

I'm guessing that is the roadblock. If we are going to get them we also need to be able to use them.

I'm willing to bet Hailey's Comet will be a fun Easter egg to find when they implement them fully.
