Are Competing CGs back?

I think finishing one doesnt stop the other, so not really. They are competing 'lore wise', and may have consequences for the story. Or not.
I just read the blurb for this weeks copy pasta CGs.
Am I right in thinking these are competing CGs like we used to have?
If so, bravo Frontier
doesn't look like competing CGs to me. Two superpowers who are closely working together require materials. Nothing competing there.
