I am not sure on the refresh for the bulletin boards, but I have seen empty ones. I just fly to another station.
I ended at a station where I was intending to log of yesterday and noticed the BB to be empty but for one mission. This morning, I log in and there's tons of missions.
This is likely a bug, but also note that only missions that your ship is capable of doing (jump range, cargo hold) will be shown to you. I remote systems with only few missions available this could be a thing.
Are missions being unobtainable common place? I'm aware that there are faction based ones which require greater standing with said faction however I've had a few missions that wont allow me to select them but no reason given. Just confused by this.
Yes, if the mission needs a certain reputation and you otherwise have all other prerequisities to take it, it WILL show, but is marked as unobtainable until the faction trusts you enough.
This particular mission wasn't faction locked though, I'm guessing I didn't have the required ship or something, it would have been good to see a message to that effect rather than having no idea. Loving the game but a tooltip here of there wouldn't go a miss
Yes this is what I thought, I just didn't know if it was a standard feature or if not telling you why you cant take the mission was standard. Thanks for the reply
I most often find empty bulletin boards when logging in to a station that I have logged out in. Although I never stuck around for 5 mins to see it refresh, time is money.
