Are Frontier tracking the stupid NPC AI?

Today within the space of only 1 Hour I have encountered a Lakon that just sat in the dock entrance blocking all incoming and outgoing traffic.

Half hour later I saw another come in for a graceful landing only to bounce up and down on the landing pad for a good 10 minutes before finally exploding.

I hope they have some diagnostic code built in that highlights these events to them. Its rather stupid and I see a lot of it on my travels.

You should have seen the npcs in the early betas. Was a nice screensaver at the time, sit in dock an watch the carnage :)

But from what i have seen in the last week, its gotten much better. No more letterboxes blocked by multible type 9s.

You should watch them pretending to mine asteroids in extracton sites

This was more entertaining than actually playing the game at times :D

I will never forget watching an Anaconda line up when exiting the station, everything going smoothly, and then for no reason gently pitching up 90 degrees as soon as he enters the letterbox and spraying himself into space. I giggled even harder as bits of him bounced off my canopy as I left.

But yes, I see far less stupidity now. Mostly just bumbling NPCs whose purpose in life appears to be collecting loitering fines.

I think you only see less stupidity in some cases as there are fewer of them around than in Beta, so they don't interact with each other as much. Old bugs are still present - ships going direct from docked to super-cruise through station or outpost walls is one of my favourites. :)

The thing I see most often with the AI is ships constantly getting blasted to little crispy bits by the stations for no apparent reason. Seems to happen an awful lot.

I saw an NPC Python in a station barrel rolling across the inside of the docking area bouncing around like a pinball. I just put it down to an engine malfunction and said a prayer for the pilot and his crew, I watched them til the end, RIP.
