Are Hot Jupiters common?

The only one I can think of off the top of my head is one hop away from Elvira, and the only reason I remember it is because there's a tourist beacon there. If I should stumble across one is it worth mentioning, or are they actually quite common?

Fairly common, though not as common as hot rocks, or regular cold gas giants.

The gas giant classes are sorted roughly by surface temperature, with Class I the coldest and Class V the hottest. "Hot Jupiters" are usually Class IV or V.

They do look pretty spectacular when you get a gas giant in seriously close orbit around a star. Always worth a photo or 3 (especially sun-rises and eclipses)
