Are reverse launch coasters possible?

In past games you could take the steel coaster and put the chain hill off the back off the station. The coaster would then release, go through your section, and roll back to the station. Is there a way to do this in planet coaster?

Yeah, if you put the station at the top of the hill, the train will roll out of the station and down the hill through whatever maneuvers you put in the track. Then at the very bottom, put the lift to hoist the train back into the station. That works fine. The stations have wheels that automatically push the trains out of them to get them started.

I appreciate the reply but not exactly what I was looking for. Also depending on the location your design would require guests going up significant amounts of height/stairs to go up to the station. I was really hoping for that old school coaster design where the car goes backwards up the hill, hangs for a second, then releases.

I went on one as a kid where it came down through the station made a 180* turn and then looped. It was cool sitting in line watching the train go through the loop right Infront of us.

AFAIK, this isn't possible in PC. It's hard enough (and rather limited) to even get a forward launch that rolls back into the station.

There is 1 type of launched coaster that pulls you back then shoots you forward, but I think that section of the track has to be flat.

I am guessing this is the type of coaster you wish to make? If so, I would also like to know how to make one!

Ok, well, I am having trouble posting a picture, but the coaster I am trying to post a picture of is called Sidewinder. Its located at Hershey Park, Pennsylvania.

you must have never played RCT

this is not even close to the same thing as being a launch or a reverse launch

@Steller hunt- why are you bumping this thread? Heres a better one for you

As you well know I didn't. But that's pointless for present purposes. As we both keep saying, PC is not RCT. If you don't like PC, either go back to playing RCT or go away. Or learn to accept PC for what it is and stick around. But belaboring all your old "PC is not RCT" points over and over, especially when you offer nothing helpful to somebody's question in this topic, does nobody any good.

Unfortunately I dont believe so, I'm new to the game, but Reverse Incline coasters are probably my favorite from RCT, I monkeyed about in the coaster menu and could not find anthing as to how the coaster leaves the station, but I think a work around may be possible. My thoughts on how to make it work would be to build a lift as normal but instead of continuing the track end it at the top of the chain lift and let it fall back down and go reverse the whole way, the only thing is I don't know if the train will stop in the station when it gets back. Going to attempt to create this when I get home from work tonight, and will provide an update once I try

But it won't stop at the top of the lift hill. Therefore the test wil fail and the coaster cannot be opened.

So here's my update from last night: First I tried making a chain hill from the station going forward and ended with two plain track pieces, once the car reached the top of the chain hill it fell for about two feet before starting up the lift again. then after that i tried a launched coaster and used the boosters instead of the chain hill. Well that didn't work either, it fell back down after reaching the top but once it got to the station it stopped.

So, it would seem that the verdict is that Reverse Launches are an impossibility currently, but let's hope they include it in a future update!!!
