Newcomer / Intro are server banks glitched or am I stupid?

...probably a mixture of both to be honest.

I got a mesaage titled "tip off". That never happened before, so i was eager to track down the ship wreck ( which was pretty tedious if I'm being honest, why can't we taregt specific coordinates :p ).

Once I got there, I took out the sentry skimmer and salvaged the little cargo that was lying around. I found a comms tower and scanned it, which gave me a message which was probably recorded by a lone survivor, and a data package which I can presumably sell. Unless that package has huge value, this was overall a pretty dissappointing find to be honest.

But then I found something called a server bank. so i thought " great, this is the actual reward". Either valuable data to sell or good engineering materials If I had to guess.

Thing is, I couldn't interact with it, at all. Can't pick it up as cargo, can't scan it. It seems weird that this thing can be targetted but not interacted with, so I decided to post this before leaving it, in case I overlooked something. I am currently parked right next to the wreckage, on olela 3.


Is there any way to interact with that server bank?

Now I want to go there and see if you can shoot it. Took me a few visits to crashes to realise you can shoot cargo racks for mats ;) Though I guess with that many reports someone will have tried shooting.

It was reported in March - and complaints continued until June.
I can't see it on the known issues list.

Am I looking in the right place or is it supposed to be fixed?

There seem to be lots of bug reports that are being ignored leading to multiple postings on the same point.
For example I had a problem with being attacked by system authority ships for no reason.

I checked the 'Known issues' thread and there was nothing similar.
So I started a new thread - only to discover later that there were (at least) two previous threads open on the same topic.

Reading back through previous threads I came across:

If this continues after the next update can you please let me know.

But there was no comment in subsequent threads on the same topic and, as I said, nothing in the 'Known issues'.

So how are we supposed to know all of what's been previously reported and what has, supposedly, been fixed?

seems like FD is slacking when it comes to bugfixing... well, seems like my first tip off is a complete waste then, cause I'm not gonna stay parked on that planet 'till next patch. It would've expired 'till then anyway

I checked out a few and shooting Server Racks has no effect.

After I've seen enough, I started treating TipOffs like mailbox spam again. Nothing changed and I haven't gotten anything useful out of the crashsites I've checked.
I might reconsider if cashing in the Data Core scans at the Mission-giving location gives something beyond generic RNG amounts of Credits. Most Missions pay more, consume less time and at least have Mat Reward Options.

You'd think after running 50+ Missions, such a TipOff location would be a Bonus of some sort. It just isn't, more like a "you ran alot of Missions, so here's an unrewarding and boring alternative" wrinkle.

These are (mostly) humans you are talking about of course someone's first thought was to try shooting, followed by let's scan it then lets shoot from over here, followed by let's steal it, followed by can I ram it?
