Are shields are weaker in 1.3?

I've been grinding at a CZ this past week trying to hit Elite rank in an Anaconda with 7A sheilds + 5 A-Shield boosters. Was at the CZ this morning when I got the server downtime notice.

-I would fight for about an hour and barely use 1 entire shield cell bank (5 charges) before I would head back to the station to take a break.

-After the 1.3 update went live, Jumped right back into the same CZ and not even 15 minutes in, I've had to use all 20 Shield cell charges (2x6A-SCB + 2x5A-SCB) to keep shields from collapsing. Did not notice a change in difficulty. Saw that there were more vultures in the CZ but I kept getting attacked by the same Eagles and Cobras as before. Either shields are now much weaker than before or weapons have increased in damage. I have been sitting in SC while I write this message for 10 minutes waiting for my shield to recharge and this is definitely not fun :eek:


Anyone else notice their shields are weaker? or are weapons stronger? Seemed like my lasers took the same amount of time to cut through enemy shields as before but my own went down as if I was in my A-kitted Vulture.
 
AI has been improved, way improved. They hit harder, are more precise, do maneuvers, use SCBs and modify their SYS pips when they fight.

So your shields are just the same strength but the AI's have improved quite a bit :D
