Are the 3 Extra Animals After the Beta Release?

Hi all,

Has Frontier said if the three extra animals (pygmy hippo, komodo dragon, Thomson's gazelle) will be available if you purchase the Deluxe edition after the beta is released, or even after the full game is released?

I am probably waiting to buy the deluxe version until later but I want to make sure I don't miss out on these animals!

If it's like JWE then the extra animals are tied to the 'Deluxe' edition, rather than a pre-order bonus, so you should be able to buy the Deluxe after the launch. Though as Luuknoord says, we don't know until it happens.

Since they stress that the beta is just a bonus, I think you'll be able to buy the deluxe edition after launch as well. It does still include the animals, the wallpaper and the soundtrack then.

What makes you so sure of? How often were there Gold or whatever editions in which "exclusive" content for early buyers or deluxe editions suddenly appeared later?

An upgrade from “standard” to “deluxe” is not unseen in the gaming industry, though and FDev provides it for at least JWE.

As I asked in another thread and still would love to learn:
1. Will this also be the case for PZ?
2. Are those upgrades usually part of sales?

The first question can only be answered by an official FDev representative, I am afraid.
The second one probably also by a helpful fellow forumite. Personally, I didn’t pay much attention to the usual sales strategy, as I either were not interested in the game or already owned everything of relevance for me.
