Are there any customer service whatsoever?

I am a PS4 player and now moving to PC. It seems it's possible to transfer assets to anther platform. I purchased the PC version on steam a few weeks back and decided to play it today, but I was only welcomed by a wall of issues.

The launcher keeps telling me that I need to update my game, but it is already up to date. I reinstalled the game, rebooted the PC. Same! Fine, maybe I should try launching the game without steam. Now it won't tell me to update and go f**k myself. But it only allows me to play demo. Good thing is there a login button. So I put in my email and password. It tells me to go purchase the game first? WHAT IS THE F**K? I purchased it on steam. That's why I can launch it! Steam gave me 3 keys. I thought the launcher is gonna have a place to let me redeem the keys, but no, everything on the launcher says 'F**k you, buy our game'

So I click on the 'my account' button hoping it would take me to a place where I can redeem my code. But it took me to a freaking webpage. Fine, I'll log in. I find an item named 'Product Access Key'. You know what it tells me? "Sorry this feature is not available without a valid billing address. " What a nice way to say 'F**K YOU'.

Then I decided to contact Frontier's customer service. It took me to the FAQ pages. Of course none of them covers my issue. I picked the one that kinda relates to my issue and asked to open a ticked. But you know what? It asked to sign f**king in again. So I did. And then it took me back to the beginning of the FAQ page (by now it should be pronounced as 'F**k you page'). Then I navigate to open a ticket again. It again asked me to sign in. Then I signed in. And it took me back to the front of the FAQ page. I repeated it 5 f**king times! And every time I login, it forces me to do that reCAPTCHA thing. It's a pain in the cencorship!

Eventually I opened a ticket somehow. I hope there is actually a human being working to resolve customer's issues caused by their own incompetent developers.

There are good people in the department that handles these issues. Reports have always been positive about the help they provide.
 
Just put in an address. Make one up if you don't want to put your real one in.

You're completely fine to rage quit because you don't like putting in all that info, but customer support isn't going to help just because you're mad, it will work once you fill in the form....

Well let's calm down, you purchased the game on steam, you payed steam the money, you didn't pay FDEV the money, you have a steam login for the game. This is not the same as a login on the FDEV account page, you can't redeem steam keys on the FDEV account page, they are steam keys.

I do have an account on the FDEV account page and it does work fine, I am sure FDEV will assist you, however getting mad for issues that aren't under their control won't help your situation, understanding that FDEV and Steam are two different companies with two different account systems and login systems will help a bit.

It is of course under their control. You talk as if this is the first game I play. That is a funny assumption. None other games I've played on Playstation, Xbox, or steam has had such services.

No, when you pay Steam you get access to a game using a Steam game key, Steam gets your money, then they pay it forward to FDEV and keep a percentage for themselves, steam has 100% control over those game keys, these are two different companies, why would FDEV have any control over Steam game keys, Steam sets those terms and conditions! It's likely that FDEV just assigns a range of game keys to Steam, control and access via those keys in whatever way they decide is then up to Steam. Did you read the terms and conditions when you purchased your game via Steam?

You talk as if this is the first game I play.

So, how many other games have you tried to move from a Steam to PC account? Regardless of how many games you have played, the company you purchase the game from controls your access, you don't get a FDEV account logon when you buy via Steam, you already have a Steam account log on, trying to use your access credentials from one company to try and log into the account services of another company just doesn't make sense.

That's the support page for Frontier and Elite Dangerous. I have to say I've always had a reply within 24 hours sometimes less than 3 and they've always been friendly and solved my issue. A couple of times I've reported bugs and had credits or rep refunded.
 
The OPs post was at 1am ish on a Monday morning, and none of the OPs replies have been since FD opened this morning.
Now it may be that he or she has been trying this for a week, but it it only started this weekend, well...

That said, this is a common problem, and happens to about half of us every time there's a patch...
If all else fails, sometimes a reinstall works... sometimes.

And you cannot transfer said assets, only the value of those assets plus it kills your PS4 commander and you start from zero on your PC account (plus the monetary value of your assets if you want that).

Decide carefully over what you want to do, it takes only a few jumps to get yourself into a half decent ship that is well kitted out. Plus you can always go back to your old CMDR for the "nostalgia".

Thanks for the info, friend. That still doesn't solve my issue. I'd be very happy if the value of everything I own on PS4 can be transferred. I grinded pretty hard for that Anaconda.

I don't mind losing my account on PS4. Sony started to censor all games on their platform very very badly. That is unacceptable to me. Sony is a lost cause. I'm not gonna spend much money on Playstation anymore. Maybe I'll play some exclusive, but that's it.
