Are there any planned changes for the coaster builder?

I didn't mean to say that Frontiers overall communication is bad

Oh well, I guess I misread this part...

their communication about the actual game isn't really any better than from most other developers.

You ever watch the Team Schematics videos?? Ed & Bo have talked with the community about things on their several times [up]

Or how about the community video of team frontier at a real life amusement park (sorry forgot who was included, luckies)

We do already have a suggestions forum here so there isn't any need to actively ask for feedback I suppose. The community on the forums is very small so it is understandable they want to gather feedback from other places as well.

Yes, It would be nice if any interaction would be done through the forums, I don't believe that the feedback they get from Reddit or whatever place else there is, is different from what they get from here.

Besides, this is why the forums are there for, a place to communicate about this game. Though I like how the community supplies new ideas and features and suggests any changes, I still feel it is one-way traffic as Frontier is not involved in those discussions and never gives feedback (only right before release or after release of features)

Dont you guys see the post AndyC just made?

Yeah, and it's great. Actually. It is perfect.
I would like to see that a lot more if possible (of course not everything can be thrown in the open).

But it still is a rare situation if it happens. [up]

What companies can you name that interact with fans - any company?? The only ones I can think of are celebrities, athletes, artists, etc... but not too many companies.

One company that tries to cater to its fans is Blizzard (yet they still have a lot of haters) I just dont get how people can say Frontier doesnt communicate enough, I guess its cuz certain players are more talked to more than others maybe? but who are you comparing them to??

No no no, I am not comparing them with anybody or anything, they just themselves talk so openly about how well they interact with their community. But they are not so "out of the box" as they seem to be wanting us to think.

I don't mind either of it all. I like how they work, I like what they produce (just look at it, the beauty the game is), I accept minor mistakes (textures etc.) which will eventually be fixed.

Conclusion: I am over the moon about the game, but I am yet to be thrilled.

Well said, that was the point I was trying to make, but failed miserably. [sad]

Of course they are going to say they are interactive, do you expect them to say things like "no we wont talk to the community"?

And of course they are still a company, nobody is saying that Frontier should be treated like they are flawless or above everybody else (I do speak quite a lot about the current DLC and other game flaws) but in my opinion, Frontier is very very vocal and community driven compared to pretty much any other company

I'm just trying to clarify things people post, like when you guys say coasters are broken or coasters suck or frontier doesnt communicate, but when you exaggerate it doesnt help. The devs are just employees working a job after all

Conclusion: I am over the moon about the game, but I am yet to be thrilled.

Is that a joke? It seems like an oxymoron, like how can you be over the moon but un-thrilled? they are basically the same thing... I mean I agree things could be better, I want more management and a scenario editor. But I can be patient :)

100% Agreed. Its funny tho that these restrictions we have that try to make the game more 'realistic' actually achieve the complete opposite. It is possible to make 100% unrealistic creations but the restrictions keep us from making more realistic creations. [blah]
*Cough* 8 meter or longer segments *cough*

One of the biggest things that would improve the coaster builder for me would be going back to 4 meter minimum track length. (Also would be nice if they would do this to track rides, too) Removing all track limits or improving the track limits for more types would also be appreciated.

Anyways, here's a list a few less mentioned coaster improvements that I would like to suggest:

More standard track styles/Improving current ones
Currently there are several coaster types in PC that support another style of standard track, like how their real life counter parts can have multiple styles of track on one layout. (Torque, Barghest, Power Up) It would be nice if Frontier expanded some other coasters that should have more track styles, and that they keep them in mind when they add new ones.

Invincible (and other older generation Intamins should they add them) - Add 3 tube track and 2 tube track styles

Viper One (and other older generation Intamin Inverts should they add them) - Add 3 tube track style

Trident and Degen (and other older generation Vekomas should they add them) - Add a double spined track style (a little like how the Bakasura's track looks)

Sprint 500 and Tiamat (and other newer generation Intamins should they add them) - Increase the radius of the spines for the track. Add a single spined track style. (Maybe) Make the single spined track style the default style.

Mack Coasters should they add them - The default 3 tube track style and a thick spined track style.

Other coaster improvements
I would appreciate if Frontier ever got around to taking the Gravity Group Timberliner Trains off the RMC Topper Track Iron Fury and gave them a proper coaster type. (Gravity Groups coasters are closer to the regular wooden coaster track, with the exception of when they invert.) Then give the Iron Fury proper RMC trains.

While that would be nice, a quicker improvement to the coaster type that has the Timberliner trains, would be increasing the max train length to 12. I was a bit disappointed when people pointed out that the Gnarler and the Iron Fury should have a max train length of 12, but only the Gnarler was addressed in a patch. It would be appreciated if Frontier also took care of the Iron Fury's trains in an upcoming patch.

This will most likely be difficult to attempt to fix, but improving track shaping/construction when you're building at steep slopes. Sometimes the placing of the track will act strange when you're trying to shape and build your track at steep slopes. Not only will it act strange, but when you finally get the shaping you want, the track may become shaded red and you will be told "Unable to build", even though the segment is nothing unrealistic. The "unable to build/edit" message may also happen when trying to autocomplete a segment or trying to smooth out the segments, even though you aren't doing anything out of the ordinary. It's a bit difficult to explain, but hopefully the team can tackle this.

Also, it would be nice if we could edit placed track with a 3d gizmo style tool. The Left/Right, Up/Down, and roll tools don't always manipulate the track the way I would like. Adding a 3D Gizmo style track manipulation tool in addition would add a lot of flexibility to track editing.
