Are there any type 6,7 or 9 pilots who trade in open? what do you do when a pirate comes?

Type 9 pilot here and I've done all my trading in open and still do. I only did one trade run in solo when I just got the T9 so I could get a feel for how it flies and how to dock it.

I've had many close calls with player pirates and psychos (IMO, a CMDR is a possible psycho if they have a large bounty on their head and have a FSD interdictor) but none of them have successfully interdicted me. I could write a wall of text on how I avoid pirates and psychos but to make it short: be aware of your surroundings, observe their actions and movements since they might not be after you, use evasive maneuvers if needed.

Just tell pirates an amusing anecdote about Roger the cabin boy, and while they're bawling with laughter, leg it.

Pirates with a sense of humour don't exist in real life, only in the movies.

I can't think of anything more boring than playing in solo, open is the way to go...you take the rough with the smooth! Personally I think solo mode should be made into a self-contained single player offline mode that has no impact whatsoever on open play. If they can do it in the X3 series they can do it for ED.
