Are there going to be dlcs next year?

DLCs have to continue into next year because there are several high profile animals that have been left out of recent dlcs, one animal in particular, the Tasmanian Devil could have made it into the Conservation Pack and now the Twilight Pack. The highest profile animals as of the Twilight Pack's announcement from @random goat's 25 essential habitat animals wishlist are the following:
  1. Tasmanian Devil
  2. Maned Wolf
  3. African Crested Porcupine
  4. Emu
  5. Lar Gibbon
  6. Red River Hog
  7. Linnaeus's Two-Toed Sloth
  8. Secretary Bird
  9. Wolverine
  10. South American Coati
  11. Fossa
  12. Goodfellow's Tree Kangaroo
  13. Walrus
  14. Black Howler Monkey
  15. Musk Oxen
  16. Hamadryas Baboon
  17. Caracal
  18. North Island Brown Kiwi
  19. Takin sp.
  20. Dromedary Camel
There are many animals that the community and players specifically want to add just that little bit more to their zoos, if aviaries is next, then that provides many further ideas for future dlcs that can further enrich the game's biodiversity.

Like the post if you want dlcs next year

We don't know for sure, as we never do, but what we do know is that Frontier at least plans on continuing PDLC until the end of FY23, which is June-ish next year AFAIK.

Yeah just checked the picture of the report - definitely says in fy23. Throughout might imply end of support at the end of the fiscal year

I thinking there will be at least two next year. Hopefully four.

Apologies to the Coati but every one of the top 9 NEED to be in the game

Actually "throughout" would have meant "through the entire year of FY 23, if the language barrier doesn't trick me, which would leave us with at least three more packs (if sticking to the "3 month rule") instead of at least one more pack. (So decembre 2022, March 2023 and June 2023).
"more packs in" could be anything from "final pack in decembre 2022" to "three more to come", but no scenario would signal the end of support. I'm afraid Frontier will take the Planet Coaster road and not talk about when DLCs end.

I think there will be more DLCs and PZ could have a longer lifetime that some people think. New mechanics and integration of middle popular animals are good signs in my opinion and makes me optimistic for the future.
I do hope so, I don't want to imagine frontier is just trying to cover all niches before ditching support

As long as DLCs are profitable, they'll continue making them. I don't see why Frontier would stop mid 2023 when fans are clamoring for more content.
Sadly, there are pragmatic reasons to stop a project, even if it's still profitable. One of the last example : Everdale from Supercell. The game was VERY profitable +++, but not enough to keep an entire team on this project instead of switch this team on another project even more profitable ++++++. So they killed it. Frontier's teams are limited, and they have other projects in boxes. So it depends of producing choices !

That said, it looks like DLC will at least continue for middle 2023, so it looks promising !!

Well supercell is a mixed bag for actual support but yeah a community favourite that apparently didn't meet the popularity of the expected range like their other games. I wouldn't say the same that frontier would expect more of planet zoo at this stage considering current support could arguably just as strong post release. However is there more planet games like say planet aquarium or whatever in the works? Who knows but lets just hope the speculations are wrong that development is to halt after winter

Yeah at some point new content for Planet Zoo will stop. Just like almost any other game (WoW and a handful of others excepting). Games are not designed to be forever-going projects. Personally I know I'd love another 5 years of content but I also know it's very unrealistic to even think that. I've always hoped for a full year of 2023 support but have remained skeptical on anything past that. I feel like they'd need to roll out both Aviaries and Aquarium related animals in order to make that happen - not just one, but both. Even then, that would probably only get them through 2024....at very most through 2025 but I think that's even unlikely. But if it did happen? That would be another roughly three years of content. On top of the roughly three we've already had. With the Twilight pack we will have 140 animals, if you include the deluxe animals with the launch since they were available at launch, we have 76 when the game began. That's...64 additional animals added..another 64 would be fantastic.

What's interesting though is that we don't count modded animals, if I'm counting right, there were 135 animals in Zoo Tycoon 2, and that included extinct animals and marine animals. Of course, that doesn't take into account the fact we have 33 exhibit animals, so full on habitat animals we have 107. I bring this up to show how far along the game is to have the most diverse roster of any zoo game.

I will mention this, because it is a Frontier game, Zoo Tycoon Ultimate Animal Collection had 200 or so species, true, many were subspecies or different species of a particular animal e.g. Giraffe, Lion, Tiger, Chimpanzee, Rhinoceros etc. But Planet Zoo should definitely try and make it to 200 animals

I think we don´t need more civs right now. Think about it, there aren´t resources available to create more civs and campaigns, just european civs, is this what the players want? For how long this will continue? We used to have more civs each DLC, now only 2. They should have reduced the number a long time ago. In one year (if we don´t move to AoE IV) we will have like 2023 calendar printable civs, is that good for the game? I hope they implemment more things, game modes,… or Aoe 2 will die soon.

AoE is that Age of Empires?
You seem a little lost on the big internet my friend. That is not even made by Frontier
