I don't want to make any assumptions about this place being a bit of a boy's club, so I thought I'd ask instead of assuming. My reason for asking is that I see a lot of people talking about their wife or various other... things, and not much talk the other way around.
Are there many other women on here/playing Elite: Dangerous?

... the avatars of the first two responses to this thread are both funny and make me unsure if they're a joke or not. =D Because all I can imagine is the wide eyed Klingon saying, gruffly, "I'm a lady".
Anyhow, there are definitely some women playing the game, but I'm not sure that there are a bunch. My wife does play from time to time, and there are a few more well known ladies here on the boards. In fact, there was actually a thread where quite a few chimed in a couple months back because a similar question was asked; you can probably track it down if you're so inclined.
I do agree that these kinds of space sandboxes can lean quite heavily towards being mostly men-folk, and on the surface ED doesn't appear to be much of an exception in that regard. But you are definitely not alone, if that's if your worry!

And if not? Then I'd certainly hope FDev's in game and forum moderation teams would come crashing down on the offending parties with a vengeance. Games like this thrive on a tight nit and welcoming community, and it would do more harm here than somewhere like WoW or CoD to build a reputation for having the community make such disgraceful displays.

A lady duck then!
Just a plain old human male of north european descent. Though, today, I do identify as a Krait Phantom. Tomorrow I may be a Cutter, unless I am feeling like a Corvette. My daughter plays. So that is at least one person that plays Elite Dangerous that I am sure is female. The rest of you are ships to me. We are all just ships in this game when it comes down to it.
