Are there Psychic Powers in ED

Do some in-game characters have psychic powers? Such as telekinesis and telepathy. If so what are the rules and limitations?

Is it considered fantasy since ED is more hard sci-fi?

Yes. Every single pirate has it, that's why they always find you instantly even though "you're a hard one to find", and why they are always already waiting for you behind every single asteroid of every asteroid ring of every system when you arrive.
Indeed, and even in non-descript, uninhabited systems several hundred light years from the civilization. It's either psychic powers or the galaxy has a very robust pirate population.
 
Good thing cops aren't psychic too. :D

They used to be.. Regarding pirates, you'd think these mission givers would have caught on to the fact that an insider is tipping off pirates on every damn run, including the biowaste ones. Thankfully I've done a grand total of 2 cargo missions since I bought my carrier.

I am pretty sure that some of those delivery missions are just excuses for us players to kill some pirates that are annoying the heck out of those minor factions.
 
No psychic powers, only a bit lackluster design and implementation, I'm afraid. Psychopathic powers, on the other hand...
